In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing firmware and software for current and future products, with an emphasis on wearable constraints.

What you’ll do 

In the role of Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintenance and enhancement of existing products, as well as establishing new codebases and framework for future system designs.
  • Bringing up new hardware, evaluating and integrating new sensors, components and technologies.
  • Algorithm development for various sensor signals, both traditional and edge NN based.
  • Working across several layers from firmware to backend to improve our existing architecture, and to take part in creating new systems.
  • Seeking ways to automate, both in software and using electro-mechanical design
  • Create tools that provide on-going and live data visualization, useful insights and analysis at every turn.

What you need to thrive in this role

  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software using C, C++, Rust or similar
  • Inherent understanding of real-time, low latency software development
  • Experience with wireless IoT processors using BLE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi.
  • Python and mobile software software development experience for rapid prototyping, proving out new features from device to backend, and making in-house tools.
  • Experience with algorithms (traditional and NN) for multi-sensor acquisition, classification, processing and transmission.
  • Experience building systems for QA and QC automation
  • Experience employing scripted language interpreters embedded systems (micropython, LUA) is a plus
  • Experience designing hardware (schematic and pcb layout) is a plus.
  • A demonstrated track record of novel, creative results, coupled with strong engineering discipline.
  • Experience at a startup or fast-paced technology organization is preferred.
